Dr. Andy Koronios is the Head of the School of Computer & Information Science, at the University of south Australia. Andy holds academic qualifications in Electrical Engineering, Computing and education and a PhD from the University of Queensland.

 

Andy has extensive experience in both commercial and academic environments and has research interests in electronic commerce, information quality, computer security, and the management and strategic exploitation of information.

 

Andy has established two University Research Labs and a funded Research Centre and is currently the Director of the Strategic Information Management Research Lab in the Advanced Computer Research Centre. He is also currently Research Program Leader of the Centre of Integrated Engineering Asset Management (CIEAM) a federally funded centre for system integration in engineering asset management.

 

Andy also has variety of commercial IT experience and has worked for numerous consulting companies which have provided consultation services for a variety of businesses including Mobil Oil, Queensland Health, McDonalds and the commonwealth Bank of Australia.

 

He has been a professional speaker on IT Business models, strategy and e-Commerce both in Australia and South East Asia, as well as a keynote in conferences at MIT, In Boston, Mass, and the UAE. He will be soon the Co-Chair of International Conference of Information Quality driven by MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology).

 

He is an accomplished researcher in the area of Strategic Information Management and has extensive IT Consulting experience. He has assisted both large and small organizations in system procurement, development, in strategy as well as training.

 

He has attracted more than $2M in research funding, has published ten books, several chapters as well as more than 100 research papers in a number of areas in computer science and information systems.

 

He has worked both as a consultant as well as a professional speaker on IT issues in Australia and South East Asia and has over twenty years experience in the academic environment. He received the University of Southern Queensland Award for Excellence in Teaching during 1996.

 

He is a Fellow of the Australian Computer Society, and a Founding Fellow of the International Institute of Engineering Asset Management.
